Dr Strangelove at Noel Coward Theatre
Booking
Booking was made via the access telephone line. I had previously registered for Delfont Mackintosh access scheme and you need to enter your nimbus card number to log into the online wheelchair booking section. You can easily book delfont Mackintiosh shows online but you may have to scroll through many dates to find wheelchair accessible seat.
Booking was easy and tickets were emailed over.
Access rate: £27.75
Essential Carer: Free
Theatre Location
Excellent location in the heart of Covent Garden with lots of accessible restaurants close by.
If you are accessing the theatre from Trafalgar Square you need to walk on right side of St Martins Lane as there is no dropped curb on the left side.
Theatre Access
Access to the theatre is via a front door. There is a long ramp to the seating area. The ceiling is a little low so your companion needs to watch their head.
We were located in a box which was across the other side of the theatre and the access host helped us navigate the foyer.
The bar is not accessible but the access host or a carer can easily access this on your behalf.

Access Host
Seat and Staging
Toilets
The access host greeted us upon arrival, and helped us access the side door. They showed us to our seats.
They did not come back at teh Interval. but apologised at teh end of the show and stated that they had become unavoidably busy.
l was escorted to and from the toilet at the end of the show and helped us exit via the side door.
We sat in seat Royal Circle BXM1 and BXM2.
This is a box off to the side which feels very private.
The box was great for two of us as there is two moveable chairs and space for a wheelchair if you remove one freestanding chair. There is also a little table for drinks.
You do need to play around with the seating configuration to enable both people to see most of the stage, so ensure you leave a little extra time.
The toilet was located in the foyer to the side of the auditorium.
You don't need a radar key to access it which meant that there were several people queuing who did not need to use the access toilet. staff made sure that I had priority over these other users but I felt quite awkward asking them to move for me.
The toilet is an good size with enough space to side transfer.

I visited in October 2024 and all views expressed above are my personal opinion.
It was my second visit to the Noel Coward Theatre
