Plaza Suite at The Savoy Theatre
Booking
Booking was easily made via the ATG website. I have previous registered for access tickets so I am able to book wheelchair spaces online. However we were informed that the access service was not informed of our booking because we went through ATG website and not directly with the theatre.
Access Ticket £25
Essential Carer Ticket £25
Theatre Location
Excellent location off the Strand near to Covent Garden with lots of accessible restaurants close by. If you are feeling flashy Gordon Ramsay has restaurants at the Savoy.
Theatre Access
Access to the theatre is via a back door on Carting Lane. To get to the front of the theatre there is steep steps to the Strand or you need to go around the back of the Savoy past the service entrances. My carer was able to leave me and get to the main entrance but if you are alone or unable to be left make sure you go to the strand entrance and get escorted to the back door.
When we arrived the access host was unable to get anyone to open the door for quite a while.

Access Host
The access host service was fabulous. They helped us gain access to the theatre and showed us to our seats. We had pre booked drinks and they went to get these for us both before the show and at the interval.
I did not need assistance to the toilet as it was close by.
Seat and Staging
We sat in FA1 and FA2.
The wheelchair space (FA1) was good. It was off to the side and separated from the other seats so I was not blocking anyones view. The carer seat was a standard chair placed next to the wheelchair which meant we could move it around.
The staging of the show was fine for the most part but there were scenes where the far right of the stage was used to be a bathroom door where we were unable to see what was going on but it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the show.
Toilets
The toilet was located very near to the wheelchair space.
However it was tiny. Barely big enough to fit a compact chair and with no turning space. I had to remove my footplates to access the space and even with these removed I almost got wedged exiting the toilet.

I visited in March 2024 and all views expressed above are my personal opinion.
It was my first visit to the Savoy Theatre
