Moulin Rouge at Piccadilly Theatre

Booking

Booking was easy and made online  after registering for the ATG access scheme. The website is easy to navigate once you log in wheelchair spaces are clearly identified. I decided to have a non transfer seat as it was easiest for me and after checking seat plan it was a good location not blocking other audience members.

Access Ticket: £25

Carer Ticket: Free

Theatre Location

This theatre is located just off Piccadilly Circus near to Leicester Square and China Town. It is very central and close to a lot of good resturants

Theatre Access

Access to the theatre is via the side door  where you then need to access a small lift in a disused bar area. We were escorted by an access host the whole way. The access is flat throughout until you reach the theatre and then there is a small slope to the seats.

Access Host

The access host greeted us upon arrival, and helped us access the side door and lift. They  showed us to our seats through the champagne bar band checked on us at half time. l was escorted to and from the toilet and at the end of the show they met us and helped us exit via the side door.

We were able to order refreshments to our seats before the show and during the interval.

Seat and Staging

We sat in stalls D23 and D24.

The wheelchair space D23 is off to the side of the row in the aisle which means that you are not blocking the view of people sat behind you. It was a great view of the whole stage and you really felt involved in the action. There was one very small scene which was obscured because it was on the very edge of the stage but it is a very minor issue.

You do have to move to allow people in and out of your row but again that is a very small inconvenience for the view. These were excellent seats.

Toilets

The toilet was located in the back of the champagne bar to the side of the auditorium.

You don't need a radar key to access it but the location meant that there was only people who required an accessible toilet using it.

The toilet is a good size and there is nenough space to side transfer.

The only minor issue is that it was quite difficult to navigate the crowds to get to the champagne bar because it was a narrow aisle.
