The Constituent at The Old Vic
Booking
Booking was easily made via The Old Vic website. You do need to have previously registered for access tickets to be able to book wheelchair seats.

I booked the tickets early as I anticipated it being a popular show and has no problem in securing a disabled seat.

Access Ticket £22
Essential Carer Ticket £22
Theatre Location

The location in at the back of Waterloo station near the Southbank which is still convenient and centrally located but away from the West End.

There are plenty of accessible restaurants on Southbank but closer to the theatre accessible options are more limited.

Theatre Access
Access to the theatre is via a side door on Webber Street. There is a lift to the stalls.
There is a bar on stalls level and a lift to a lower bar however these get very busy during the intervals. We did not access the bar as there was no interval.

It was also difficult accessing the lift at the end of the show as it was very busy.

Toilets
There was no one who greeted us when we arrived apart from a security guard who showed us the lift and informed us where the toilets and stalls were.

When we went to the stalls we were greeted by a member of staff who showed us to our seats. At the end of the performance the same staff member was waiting by the lift to help us access it.
We sat in N5 and N6.

The wheelchair space (N5) was great. It was on a raised platform where the only small complaint I had was that you feel slightly separated from your companion but that doesn't matter when the show starts. I could see the whole performance and I was not blocking anyone behind me.

We arrived later and therefore I did not have to move to accommodate any other people sitting further in the row.

The toilet I used on this visit was located on the lower level of the theatre. There is not a lot of space to wait If the toilet is occupied without blocking a gangway. I ended up waiting by the lift which was fine because no one else was using the lift but I would have struggled to find somewhere to wait if I had to move out of the way.

The toilet itself was a good size with plenty of space for a side transfer.

I visited in March 2024 and all views expressed above are my personal opinion.
It was my first visit to The Old Vic Theatre
